Life, love, and legacy are happening right now.

Let’s safeguard them together.

At Maryland Legacy Law, we work with clients in Maryland and Washington D.C. to create plans for the future and then memorialize them with legal documents like wills and trusts.

We help you protect your family and create a plan for your legacy that’s in line with the life you’re living and your goals for caring for loved ones. We want every client to leave our work together with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the people and causes you care about are taken care of - no matter what life brings.

What will your legacy be?

Life is full of things we can’t control. And even though that uncertainty can be scary, there are lots of ways to protect and support your loved ones in the future with choices you make now. Organizing your affairs now is a gift to them.

Legacy “on purpose”

Did you know that even if you haven’t been through the planning process before, the state already has a plan in place for you? Do you know what it says? Is it tailored to your goals and your family? Do you think it plans to save you money on taxes or respects your wishes for how to best care for your loved ones? The legislators do their best, but they don’t know your family. Your legacy deserves more than “the default.”

Protect and provide for your kids

Parenting young children is full of joy and adventure, but also worry and anxiety. We can work together to name the right guardians for your children in case the unthinkable happens and you aren’t able to raise them yourself. We’ll create trusts and detailed documents so your kids will have all the opportunities you dream of for them and their guardians will know how to share your values and priorities with your kids as they become confident, independent adults.

Legacies are about more than your stuff.

Your material assets - like your house, bank accounts, investments, and collectables - will be part of our planning, but legacy planning goes beyond that. We’ll work together to set up a will, medical directives, living wills, powers of attorney, and trusts as needed but we’ll also find ways to help you pass on the stories, values, and experiences that are closest to your heart.
